What Is the Procession?
A formal royal ceremony held on the Chao Phraya River, combining traditional boatbuilding with Royal Thai Navy ceremonial precision. The 2026 edition marks the royal presentation of Kathin robes at Wat Arun and celebrations for Her Majesty Queen Suthida’s fourth-cycle birthday. The formation stretches roughly 1,280 metres and 90 metres across.
Where to Watch
The public viewing corridor runs along both riverbanks between Krung Thon Bridge and Wat Arun. A spot near Wat Arun offers a scenic temple backdrop; further upstream gives a better sense of the full formation’s scale. Not every pier or riverside space is guaranteed to be open confirm access before you go.
Getting Around
Expect river navigation controls from 12:00 on ceremony and rehearsal days, covering Krung Thon Bridge to Somdet Phra Pin Klao Bridge, and the Bangkok Noi Canal area to Wat Suwannaram. This can affect boats, road traffic, and pier access — build in extra travel time.

Can’t make 6 November? The two full-dress rehearsals (21 & 28 October) offer a close preview of the full-scale formation, with smaller rehearsals running from August through mid-October. A rehearsal visit also leaves more time to explore Bangkok’s temples, markets, and food scene.

A well-located base makes early starts and crowded departures far easier. Look for a hotel with good transport links and a manageable route to your chosen viewing spot especially if you’re staying more than one night to build flexibility into your plans.
